Day 12. Lincoln to St John. 92 km.

We woke up to a less than encouraging weather forecast with a probability of showers all day. Fortunately it didn't rain on us although the wet roads indicated that rain had fallen before us. Every time we went up a hill we were warm and then cooled off during our coast down the other side; it was about 5-7C all day. We checked into the Travelodge about 2 pm, and the receptionist mentioned a possible ferry problem. Sure enough the sailings are cancelled until Saturday morning. We're staying here an extra day. Today's picture shows the wind that we could have peddled into.

Although it's disappointing to be held up, we can use the time to rest our bodies and repair a few wounds. I will try to find a pipe clamp to repair the connection of bike basket to the stem.

As there's no restaurants along today's ride, I had no opportunities to talk up vitamin D today.
