Today we hiked Mt Arthur and got to see the Kea, which is their alpine parrot. We also checked out one of the many huts that you see along the trails; even the minimal huts have platforms with vinyl-covered mattresses. Although the mountain looked difficult from a distance, the trail to peak was well-marked and safe. The peak is above Susie's head to the right in the clouds; the trail to the final ridge is in the whitish patch above Susie's head and a little to the right.
