Feb 11/12 Abel Tasman National Park

We made a low tide crossing of the river at Awaroa.  Here are the hikers waiting for the tide to go out.

Here are a bunch of people following us; we were the first to cross this time.  We were waist deep in water; Susie had stripped down to make the crossing, enabling us to cross before the others.

We stayed overnight in the hut at Bark Bay which is shown here. Kanji is putting on his socks, and in the doorway another hiker is following protocol and taking off his boots to keep the hut clean.

This morning we got some great views of the ocean.

Also shown is the entrance sign for the park where we exited after a 26 km walk from Bark Hut.
