Feb 6/7 Arthur's Pass

After leaving Christchurch, we hiked up Foggy Peak, then visited Castle Rocks; this is the setting for parts of various movies. We were told that they shot some of Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings here.









Near Castle Rocks, there is an underground stream,
Cave Stream, that we walked through; it takes about 45 minutes of wading upstream in a limestone cave.

The next day we hiked up Avalanche Peak, which is right in Arthur's Pass.
